The first Lethem Town Week was held in 2017 , the highlight of which was the declaration of Lethem as a town by H.E.  President David Granger.

​

The main aim of the event is to showcase the rich cultural diversity of the Rupununi and the warmth of its people.

 

This annual event is a week long celebration of the Rupununi and attracts patrons from the region, Brazil and Georgetown. 

​

It is envisioned that the event will grow bigger  from year to year and will encourage even greater numbers of visitors to the region and play its role in increasing visitor numbers to  the region. 

​
